28th June 2005 - International Fleet Review

Taking place in the Solent at Spithead, the International Fleet Review will be a fitting start to the summer calendar of six-days by the sea. A rare and prestigious event, this will be the first major Spithead Review since 1977. The Royal Navy intends to host an international fleet made up of vessels from the navies of over 30 countries. Many other craft, including merchant ships and some of the world’s finest tall ships are also expected to participate, developing the 600-year-old tradition of the Fleet Review into a modern symbol of international maritime friendship and co-operation. Less formal than usual, children and Sea Cadets from all over Britain will be involved.
