RYA Day Skipper Theory Course

Course:

Day Skipper Theory Course (also known as Day Skipper shorebased Course)

Duration:

5 days (in a week) or 5 days over three weekends or about 22 weeks of 3 hour evening sessions.

Scheduled day skipper courses are held at Southampton, Hampshire UK and in the Solent area.

Likely participants:

The course is equally applicable for sail or power boaters and suits those keen to spend a good amount of time developing their theoretical knowledge away from the water, either before or after attending a Day Skipper Practical Course. It also acts as an excellent follow on to Powerboat Level 2 or as an essential ahead of the Advanced Powerboat Course.

This is an excellent course to take as it goes into far more detail about aspects of safety, boat types, weather, navigation, charts, Collision Regulations, etc, than can be achieved over the duration of a short practical course. Entirely classroom based, this course lasts 5 days or three weekends depending on the course you want to attend.

This is an ideal course for a RYA Powerboat Level 2 or Motor Cruising Helmsman 'graduates' to take to build on their knowledge or as a prerequisite for the Advanced Powerboat Course. Equally if you intend taking Day Skipper Practical Course then taking this course will allow more of your practical course to be dedicated to the practical aspects of the course

Weekend RYA Day Skipper Course

RYA Day Skipper theory weekend course including Free VHF DSC Marine Radio Licence


Completed over 3 weekends this course will cover the syllabus for RYA Day Skipper theory course. Weekends 1 & 2 dedicated to learning the syllabus, weekend 3 includes course revision and the RYA Day Skipper assesment.

Also included during the 3rd weekend is the FREE1 day VHF Radio short range course enabling you to gain the marine radio operators licence.
